Alfonso and Caroline Galvano along with a few other families started Rochester Christian Church back in 1985 in the heart of Rochester's cultural district near the corner of the North Goodman and University intersection.

God placed a vision in Pastor Galvano to start a church where anyone could come and worship no matter their race or their nationality. Before the church started, Pastor Galvano prayed “Lord, give us not a white church, nor a black church, but a church where people from all over the world can come together to glorify you”.

The Lord answered that prayer and today the church fellowship is made up of hundreds of people from 3 different continents and over 15 different countries.

In October 2010, the church moved from its original location to its current residence near the shores of Charlotte and changed its name to Hope Christian Fellowship.
