Good Saturday morning church,

As you read this, know that the men of HCF are having a men's Conference at the church entitled "Submitting to God's Established Standard".

I want to just touch on the word "Submit". Few if any, like the word let alone practice it. No one wants to lose control of their choices or actions. Yet as disciples of God we are commanded to "submit to Him". There are many reasons.

*Love demands submission.

*God knows what is best for us.

*God's plan for our lives demands that we submit to Him.

*God's Plans are always perfect.

...So since God's plans are perfect for my life, why would I not submit? 

God's desire for our lives is to grow, develop and bring glory to Him.

God's standards have already been established for us to follow to achieve what His plans are for us. They are recorded in His word for us to clearly know them. So, why are so many believers struggling with the choices they make in life? 

Since God's standard is CLEAR and ESTABLISHED---all we need to do is obey.

He has shown us how to be a better man or woman, a better parent, a better employee or employer and the list goes on and on.

Maybe the struggle comes in who will be in control of our lives. He desires to be in control. Yet, it must come from a willing heart. God is our Father, and just like an earthly father desires to protect his children so is our heavenly father. 

Now, I know we know that truth. It is time for us as true believers (disciples) to make a commitment to follow His ways. God is obligated to fulfill His word in our lives, and obedience is the door to that fulfilment.

Here is a little self-examination---what are some of the areas that I have not yet submitted to that are clear in His word? As you answer that question honestly and begin to make changes to line up with His word you will see a change in your life for the good.
