Good Saturday morning church family
I trust you have adjusted to the weather change. The first winter day is shocking to everyone. Most of us will get used to it, the rest may end up complaining about it through it.
If possible, enjoy it. "This is the day that the Lord has made"
This week I got to thinking about my personal destiny. Is it moving the direction I thought it would or have I hit a few sleep bumps and gotten off course? Maybe that is the wrong question to ask.
Truth is---my destiny has always been planned out.
From the beginning of time, God has planned for me and you have been made. His destiny for us has been and will forever be to make us to be like Jesus.
Gen. 1:26 reminds us---"God said, Let us make man in our image."
In all of creation only humans are made in God's image.
People use the phrase--"like father, like son". Meaning to family resemblance. That's a nice thing to hear from others.
Primarily, God wants us to be like him in character and action. So, what does that look like in your life and my life? Have we touched people like God does? Has love and caring and listening been a portion of your life and mine?---that's God-like. How about forgiveness and going the extra mile for someone---that's God-like. Have we restored a relationship that has been broken or hurt? ---that also is God-like.
You see, our destiny is to be more and more like God's Son---Jesus. He had all those traits I just mentioned and he wants us to carry those traits and distribute them to others in need of them.
Here is something to hold on to---when you forget what our destiny should look like, just remember one thing---It should look like Jesus.
