Good morning Church family
Just think only about another 50 days or so and then comes SPRING! Wow, that's something to look forward to.
***If you were not here with us last Sunday, you need to stream last week's message. Elder Ray spoke mightily about "Wasted Pain" trust me, you will be blessed.
Let's take a quick look at James 1:23-24. I just love this book. So practical and everyday common sense. Take a moment to read it!!!
James describes a believer who just hears God's word but doesn't do anything with its knowledge. (We all know people like that, it may even be us)
He characterizes this person similar to a man who looks at himself in the mirror, recognizing what he sees, and then forgets what he saw.
He follows up with vs. 25 saying, "he who looks at the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, not forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, he is one who will be blessed in what he does."
What a clear promise from God. Question here, How are we doing with that?
Obedience to the Word of God brings blessing with it. It is that simple.
Who are we in the mirror when we look at? The word of God is our mirror. If our lives reflect what the Word says to do and say, we then see clearly and we are on the right track spiritually and morally. If it does not match then we need to make some adjustments. You see the natural mirror does not lie, it reveals what is before it. The Word of God says---this is how we are to live in this fallen world. We just need to match up with it.
A little side note: People are watching us regularly. That's why we need to look in God's mirror so we can reflect who God is and lead them to Him.
Here is a little tip--- We like to look in the natural mirror of life, because we want to look our best at all times. That's a good thing. Let's do the same with the Word so we can make adjustments so we can look our best to attract the non-believer to the Savior.
