I want to share with you today about the WASTE of WORRY.
Most of us are great at worrying. In fact, I know people who worry because they have nothing to worry about.
The Bible is very clear about how we are to deal with worry. Phil. 4:6 tells us---"Don't worry about anything, but pray." So, we are given 2 commands about this issue of "worry":.
First, it tells us--DON'T worry
Second, it tells us to pray..
Since we are commanding these two things to happen, there must be a reason why.
Let me share a few:
#1: Worry is very unreasonable.
Worry exaggerates the problem at hand. Worry changes nothing except increasing worry. It seems to grow, because we are thinking about it more than we should.
#2: Worry is unnatural.
No one is born worrying. Worry is something we learn from others and their reactions to events outside their control. Our bodies weren't designed to handle worry, which is one reason why many people are sick.
I love what Prov. 14:30 tells us. "A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body."
#3: Worry is unhelpful.
Worry does not change the past, and it cannot control the future. It just messes up today!
#4: Worry is unnecessary.
God made you and me, and He holds our lives in the palm of His hand. Trust Him!!
Know that God knows our every need, and He is faithful to His children.
So--Don't Worry, Be Happy. Our God holds our hand as we go through the challenges this life will bring.
