Good Saturday Morning,

If you have joined us on Wednesday evenings, we have been sharing from 1 Peter. Great book!

In his second letter, he writes about How to live in Light of Eternity.

Look with me at 2 Peter 1:3: "For as you know him better, he will give you, through his great power, everything you need for living a truly good life; he even shares his own glory and goodness with us." WOW!!!

 

Most people pay little to no attention to eternity. They live only for the here and now, which is a waste. As believers that should not be true for us. We must live in light of eternity. After all, that is where we will spent it. So, since that is true, how should we live then? The answer is simple: We live for God's Glory! After all He's going to share His glory with us in heaven. 

So, here are a few thoughts to consider:

You can live cynically, critically, or even pessimistically. That choice is ours to make. However, you can also choose to live gratefully, generously, or graciously.

If you choose the first list, you choose to face the future expecting the worst and experiencing the worst. You can choose to be ungracious to other people, and live for your own glory. OR, choose this: Face your future with gratitude, generosity, and grace, and live for God's glory.  

Here is something to think about: 

Which one do you think will make you happier? Which will make you more successful both spiritually and secularly?

We were created by God to bring Glory to Him. In fact, He has given us everything we need to live a truly good life. But remember it is what God the Father has given us. It is His gift to us.

Could one reason for that be that He wants us to remember that we will spend eternity with Him?

ETERNITY---What a wonderful word.
