This is the day the Lord has made;

We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Psalms 118:24

Good morning dear sister!

I pray that you woke with the joy of the Lord in your heart today! That’s the kind of ‘woke’ God wants us to be! We have every reason to be joyful in the Lord today because, no matter what befalls us, the Lord is by our side and He is always victorious!

Even so, I woke up worried yesterday. I knew better than to allow it, but little seeds of doubt had been planted in my mind. Looking back, I should have recognized the voice of the evil one, renounced and rejected it in the Name of Jesus right then, but, admittedly, the suggestions I heard whispered to my mind only reinforced my own secret, dreadful thoughts. As I pondered and entertained them in the light of day, they germinated and began to take root as I slept that night.

So, I woke up worried about the day’s events. My Beloved had a day of some heavy manual labor (he will pooh pooh that, being the manly man that he is) and, as ‘some’ may think, I might be a little (over)protective in guarding his health. I was worried about him lugging heavy items around by himself. Away from me. All alone. (as if I’m a big help!)

He had a good plan though and the right equipment for the job, so off he went. I retreated to my sunrise chair, prayed and then tried to knock myself out by stacking firewood and doing Fall yard work. Still standing, I started in on house cleaning, and checking my phone every few minutes for a word from him. I mistakenly thought that occupying my mind and body with hard work would quiet the terrible ‘what ifs’ flowing through my head.

When he finally came home, he had the most amazing tale to tell!! He was working along, making good progress, when it came time to move some heavy items. As he was pondering how to handle it, two guys came along and offered to help him! Total strangers! (They looked like men, but perhaps they were angels) Actually, they weren’t far from angels, they were brothers in the Lord and the Lord brought them together at that moment for their mutual benefit! Isn’t that wonderful? The Lord was working in all three of their lives, even though they hadn’t planned such a meeting! Good is soooo good! (Why was I so worried?)

I’ve written it before, but it bears repeating, we can rejoice in every day the Lord gives us simply because He is with us and will fight for us! The Psalmist declares, “The Lord is for me! I will not fear! What can a mere man do to me?” (118:6) He further proclaims. “The Lord is for me among those who help me!” (118:7)

I love David’s confidence! Even though surrounded by his enemies, he assures himself three times, “In the name of the Lord, I will certainly fend them off!” “In the name of the Lord, I will certainly fend them off!” “IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, I will certainly fend them off!" (118;10,11,12) It’s true, in the name of the Lord, we can certainly fend off our enemies of fear and dread and doubt! Maybe he wrote it three times so he would remember God’s promises! Maybe it would have been a good idea for me to recall God’s promises too!

God is faithful even when we are doubtful. All we have to do is cry out to our Abba and He hears! It doesn’t matter if you have a lot of faith or a little faith. He hears the cry of your heart. He knows your secrets, the worries you never dare to bring to light, yet He  watches over you and waits for you.

Do you have secret worries and doubts, dear sister? Read psalm 118 in its entirety. Throughout the whole psalm David is being attacked and the battle is raging, yet his faith remains in God’s strength to fight his enemies and protect him. Because David’s battles were fought by the Lord, his song of attacks and victories ends with praise and thanksgiving!

You are my God, and I will praise you!

You are my God, I will exalt you!

Give thanks to the Lord,

For He is good!

And His mercy is everlasting!

The attacks we suffer will end in praise and thanksgiving too, if we follow David’s example! And you will rejoice in the day that God has given you! We serve a mighty and awesome God, there is no other!

Look for Him in your battles and they will end with God’s victory! He promises!

I’m looking forward to hearing your testimonies as you keep loving Jesus and moving forward!

With love, your sister, Celeste
