Who, then, are those who fear the Lord?

He will instruct them

in the way that they should choose.

They will spend their days in prosperity

and their descendants shall inherit the land.

The Lord confides in those who fear him;

He makes his covenant known to them.

My eyes are ever on the Lord,

for only he will release my feet from the snare.

~ Psalm 25:12-15

Good morning dear sister!

We thank the Lord for another day to live in his presence and walk in the way He chooses for us!

The psalms are some of my favorite places to dwell when I don’t know how to pray. They are a place of great encouragement, comfort and instruction! The words may have been written thousands of years ago (imagine!), but they are just as timely as if they were written this very day! Our God is an awesome God!

Who, then, are those who fear the Lord? They are those who have a revelation of who God is! Fearing Him is to have a regard for His awesome power, a reverence for His Holiness and a deep respect for His authority!

Those who fear the Lord have come to know the great Creator of all!! Imagine, that God, who inspired the psalmist to sing his song of praise and worship is the same God who created all the glories of the heavens and the earth!

Have you ever looked at photos of the universe? In many ways, they look like so much colorful dust to me. Yet, we are looking at a scene which is so much more vast and farther away than we can imagine!

Just looking at the night sky and contemplating the stars and the planets makes me feel insignificant. When I compare my existence to that of stars and planets in other galaxies, I think that I am no more than a speck of dust myself! Yet, the Creator of all this glory and magnificence cares for me.

The Lord cares about our well-being so much that He will instruct us in the way He chooses for us!  He promises us good things if we walk the path He has planned for us! If we’re obedient to His way, He showers us with such prosperity that we will be able to hand it down to our children and grandchildren. As mere mortals, we love to pour out gifts and goodness to our families, how much more does our heavenly Father pour out blessings on those who love Him? (Matthew 7:11)

Ever more precious though, in a proper relationship with the Lord, He condescends to be our friend! A friend who is closer than a brother! (Prov 18:24) A friend who will never leave us or forsake us! (Heb 13:5)

We need a friend like that in this world! But, as you know, friendship, even with God, is a two way street! Just as a parent is frustrated when their child will not listen to instruction for their good, God is grieved when He has to withhold blessings from His disobedient children.

However, if we keep our eyes on Him, He will protect us from the snares, chaos and turmoil of this world. The psalmist says. “My eyes are ever on the Lord.” That means that David, although he was in trouble, did not look around at what might be, but kept his focus on the Lord. We must choose what we’re going to look at. We must choose what we’re going to think about! We must choose how we spend our time, money and even our very lives.

If our eyes are ever on Him, He will counsel us! He will confide in us! He will make known His plans for us! He will keep our feet from the snares of worry, confusion or fear.

He leaves us the choice to have that kind of relationship with Him. I choose to have that kind of relationship with my God, my Savior, my Friend. Is He waiting to release your feet from the snares of this world, dear sister?

Keep loving Jesus and moving forward!

With much love, your sister, Celeste
