I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring,

and My blessing on your descendants

~ Isaiah 44:3b

Good morning dear Sister!

You are blessed by God today, even at this moment! God is so good, He is not only caring for you right now, He has plans for you today, for tomorrow, for every day that He has ordained for you!

What is His plan for you? Even if you presently have no offspring or descendants, natural or spiritual, God pours out His blessings on all whom He has formed in the womb, which means you, dear sister! (Isaiah 44:2)

Why? Because you are His offspring! You are His child! He has inscribed your name on the palm of His hand! (Isaiah 49:16)

In fact, the scripture above begins with the promise of God to pour out His Spirit on His own children first. He says,

“Thus says the Lord who made you and formed you from the womb, who will help you: ‘Fear not, My servant; and you, My righteous one, whom I have chosen. For I will pour out water on her who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground.’” (Isaiah 44:1-3a)

We are formed by His hand, our Father will help us! We are made righteous by the blood of Jesus, His Son (Romans 5:9)! We have been chosen (1Peter 2:9) and the ‘cream in the ‘cannoli (Italian for the icing on the cake)’; the Lord has promised to satisfy our hunger for Him!

God’s Holy Spirit dwelling within us is the continuation of His family line! Just think, you & I are part of this present generation of God’s family! We are descendants of our spiritual ancestors! With the help of the Holy Spirit, we too will produce spiritual offspring! Not necessarily born of our flesh, but born of the Holy Spirit into our family of God; our own spiritual descendants!

So how do we go about giving birth to spiritual children? As mentioned before, this is not something we can do without the help of the Holy Spirit! Sometimes we feel dry and empty ourselves, discouraged by the length of the process, thinking our efforts are ineffectual and useless.

But God. But God, in His great mercy and love for us says, “Do not fear, I will pour out water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground! I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring and my blessing on your descendants! (Is 44:3)

When we cry out to God as we are feeling parched and dry, He doesn’t just sprinkle water on our desiccated hope, but pours His living water into the thirsty ground of our soul!

God’s living water keeps us moving in the mission to expand His family not only across the street, but also across the town and even across the world! Isn’t it a wonder that He promises to pour out His Spirit on us and our offspring? It is so exciting to see God at work in the ones that we love and in the people we meet every day!

Do you wonder what sort of blessings God promises for our descendants? After He refreshes the souls of His children, He again pours out His blessings on our offspring! He promises that He will cause them to spring up like the grass among the waters or the poplars by streams of water! (Is 44:4)

They will no longer dwell in the parched and dry places where they existed before, but will flourish and grow strong and mature. Like the plants in a well watered garden, they will themselves bear fruit of their own! As strong trees well nourished by streams of water, they will multiply and bear offspring of their own!

Is that enough? Should we ask God to stop pouring? My favorite promise is yet to come, and we can claim it for our offspring, spiritual and natural! Claim it with me!

“This one will say, 'I am the Lord’s!'

Another will write on his hand ‘Belonging to the Lord’” (Is 44:5)

Please Lord, pour out more and more of your living water into your children today! May we see our offspring grow and flourish in the life and power of your Holy Spirit! Make it so, we pray, for the sake of Your beloved Son!

What a mighty God we serve! Our faithful and merciful Redeemer! God, our Saviour!

Keep loving Jesus and moving forward!

With much love, your sister, Celeste
