Praise be to the God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who has blessed us in the heavenly realms
with every spiritual blessing in Christ!
~Ephesians 1:3
Happy blessed morning dear sister!
What has happened in your day so far, that has been a blessing? Well, you woke up, for starters! Praise God!
Sooner or later, our bodies have to surrender to sleep, which I’ve always found interesting. After all, when you think about it, God never sleeps! He never even needs to take a nap! For us mere mortals, sleep is not a choice! Even the most determined person has to, every 16 hours or so, give in to the needs of their physical body! It is a time when we have to give up control, lay aside our worries, fears and problems. We need the rest, both physically and mentally!
Try telling that to a toddler! It seems that all of my grandchildren were born with a bad case of FOMO! (Fear Of Missing Out) They go and go and go until they drop! (by then, I’m ready for a nap myself!)
As adults, we often have the same trouble. We probably all know people who worry endlessly, work themselves ragged and are stressed about their future well-being. Their to-do list is a mile long and they try to cram 2 day’s worth of activities into one. They don’t have the loving guidance of the Holy Spirit, who cares for their souls. (hint: they need to hear about Jesus!)
As a young adult, that description surely fit me. I was living on my own, going to school, paying rent, bought a car to get to my job, and then had to keep my job to pay for the car. Barely 20 years old and part of the rat race! I thought that was the way ‘normal’ life was supposed to be!
But then I met Jesus! I kind of knew His father, but mostly I tried to keep a low profile, hoping He wouldn’t notice me. I was afraid of God, and rightly so, until I encountered His Son! Then, I started sleeping better!
Forty-something years later, I am still amazed every single day of the love and blessings my Abba, the One I was trying to avoid, has poured out on me! The scripture, ‘We love because He first loved us’ (1John 4:19) is TRUTH!
No matter how long we’ve been walking with the Lord, He will always call us His children. In His love, He teaches the truth about Himself in a way that we can relate to, using examples of everyday life. For example, God uses the family structure to teach us both the natural and spiritual truth of love.
As mothers, we love our own children even while in the womb! Though the infant does not yet know us, we have already loved them first! Then, they are born and what joy to hold and behold the miraculous creation of God!
Imagine, when we ourselves are born again, the joy of our Abba when He holds and beholds His own redeemed child! (that would be you, dear sister!)
As children grow, how wonderful it is when that baby you love smiles back at you, or that toddler you love runs to wrap their little arms around your leg! If that melts our wicked hearts, imagine how God’s pure and holy heart feels when we come running to Him?
This is how God loves us, this is how God loves you!
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus! His spiritual blessings began even before He knit us together in our mother’s wombs and will continue into eternity with Him!
So, dear sister, let’s give Him praise and thanksgiving for loving and redeeming us from our past! For loving and guiding us in our present! And, for loving and equipping us for the service He has planned for our future. These spiritual blessings, coming from the heavenly, eternal realm, will never cease!
God lives outside of time the way we understand time. He is always present! He is always now! He is always always! His promise of spiritual blessings are perpetual too, continuing without interruption endlessly!
Whether you’re a newborn babe in Christ, a golden saint or somewhere in between, God’s love for you, dear sister, will never, ever cease! Hallelujah!
Keep loving Jesus and moving forward!
With love, your sister, Celeste
