Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
In His great mercy He has given us a new birth
Into a living hope
Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
~ 1 Peter 1:3
Happy Easter dear sister!
I just had to write that wonderful declaration in a happy font! It’s worth reading again and again! We have reason to celebrate! Every single day!
New life is always joyful…… a new baby is eagerly anticipated and celebrated in spite of the unavoidable woes and trials he or she will undoubtedly suffer in this broken world. “Life is good”; most of us would agree.
Yet our God, our Father, has taken infinitely more steps beyond mere biological birth! He has offered us a spiritual birth, an opportunity to be born again to a hope that will never fade or expire! Our living, enduring hope in the victory over death through the resurrection of Jesus Christ!
Jesus said to His disciples, “Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you will also live.” (John 14:9) What a glorious promise! When Jesus spoke this to His disciples, they didn’t understand. Imagine the revelational glory (i.e. excitement) as the Apostle Peter penned “…. He has given us a new birth into a living hope…” after recognizing the resurrected Lord!
As Jesus’ disciples today, this promise alone is enough to carry us through every trial that we endure in this wicked world! This promise alone is enough to keep us grateful for all that we have in this world. This promise alone gives us strength to persevere even when we don’t have all that we could wish for in this corrupted world. It’s not a mantra or wishful thinking, it is a living promise breathed into your soul by a living God!
Have you experienced that new birth into a living hope?? Perhaps you have never read that verse before, or haven’t understood it. I encourage you to pray and ask the Lord to show you.
Let this season of celebrating the resurrection of our Lord be a time to secure your own rebirth into a new life in Him!
God bless you! Stay tuned for next next week when we explore the second half of this glorious promise….. It just keeps getting better! God is sooooo good!
Blessed Easter with love, your sister, Celeste
