The goal for this diagram is to help you organize your prayer time to be more effective.
Figure out how much time you are planning to spend in prayer. 30 minutes? 60 minutes?
Always keep a pen and paper available or something to make note of those pesky distractions that come. Maybe you remember to take out the trash or you’ve got to pick up that gallon of milk. Write it down and return to your prayer.
If you are spending 30 minutes divide up the time to each section, same with 60 minutes or whatever time you are going for. Give each section the time it needs and don’t rush through it. This is not a race. The idea is to spend time with God in prayer.
Plan a time during your day that you can devote to prayer. Mark it on your calendar, set an alarm on your phone. Try to keep it the same time every day.
Below we have listed some suggestions and remember they are simply suggestions to get you started or to give you and idea on where to start. Always keep #1 PRAISE & closing with “Thanks”. The rest in between is up to you and what you find you may need to pray for day by day.

-
- PRAISE
- First spend time praising God for the things He's done for you, no matter how big or small. Try to come up with 4-5 things to praise Him for. Another way to praise God is to put on your favorite praise songs and sing along (Does not matter how good/bad, softly/loudly you sing . . . God loves you no matter what!)
- FRIENDS/FAMILY
- Be specific . . . name each of your children, grandchildren, spouse, parents, siblings, other relatives, friends, etc. Name them and their need/s.
- THE CHURCH
- Call your church, talk with a pastor/elder to find out what are some needs within the church/ministries or even their own personal needs. Even Pastors/Elders/Leaders need prayers.
- UNSAVED FAMILY/FRIENDS
- You may have already put them in group #2, but if you did not, here's the time. Again, be specific regarding names and needs.
- WORK/JOB/SCHOOL
- Spend time praying for co-workers, management of the business you work for or your child/ren's teachers, principals, etc. If you don't have a job, maybe now is the time to pray for one.
- GOVERNMENT
- Our government is always in need of prayer, whether it is your local or federal, pray for their guidance and wisdom.
- THANKS
- Always return to the top with Thanksgiving for what God has done and will do.
- PRAISE
-
Remember, you always have a RIGHT to pray. No matter what you’ve done in your past. Don’t ever stop praying. If you have time or the chance, look up and listen to . . .
