Good Saturday morning family,
FIRST OFF: Don't forget to turn your clocks FORWARD ONE HOUR tonight before you go to bed. (you don't want to be late for church tomorrow) What excuse do you have now?
I love the stories of Jesus. He is so powerful and yet does not show off. Read Matt. 14:22-33 and you will see that truth.
---When difficulties come to you, are you surprised that God would allow them? That's a fair question. Some feel that obedience to God exempts us from such problems. Well, they do not!!!
Consider the passage I have asked you to read. The disciples of Jesus were obedient to what Jesus told them to do. Yet before long, they found themselves tossed about by a huge storm. What's that all about? I obey and still get wet? That may not make sense to you and me, but God always has an ultimate purpose.
There are some who just come to the conclusion that if trouble comes your way, you are the cause of it. Don't buy that thought. Not all difficulties come from our sin or failings. God chooses to use situations in life to bring us up to the next level in our walk with Him.
That's what was happening in Matt. 14 with His disciples. No matter what, know that you are in His hands to love and to secure.
Jesus knew what lay ahead for the disciples, he was training them for the work that was before them. The challenges of the storm they were in the midst of, created by God, would help them learn lessons about TRUST, POWER, FAITHFULNESS, for future ministry.
Could that be the reason why you may be going through your storm. Don't always fight the storm, ask God what I need to learn from this. We would be better off with that attitude.
God uses a variety of things (storms included) to help us become strong and a witness of our relationship with Him.
During your next storm, KEEP YOUR HEAD UP, you may get wet, but you will not drown---Jesus won't let you, He is in the boat with you.
