Good Saturday morning church---

This is a month that we declared to be "Read your Bible Daily month". I hope you have been able to do it. If not, today is a good day to start.

Now with that in mind, here is my thought---read the story of Joseph in Gen. 37-50.

First of all, it is a GREAT true story with so many spiritual truths in it. Also, I want to ask you a question and answer it from Joseph's life.

Here is the question---"Why do some people get promoted, while others don't?"

That's a great question!!! Think about it for a moment.

In Gen. 39:6 it says of Joseph---"So Potiphar gave Joseph complete administrative responsibility over everything he owned...."Wow!!!

One of the greatest compliments you can receive from someone is, I am not worried, because I can count on you to be reliable, trustworthy and I know you have my best interest at heart. Has anyone ever said that about you?

When someone says of you, you are reliable, they are saying---"I know I can trust you, because you always keep your promise and fulfill your responsibilities, even if it requires you to sacrifice."

Joseph was that kind of man while he was in Egypt under Potiphar's rule. But greater than that even when Potiphar was not around, Joseph was faithful in all he did.

That is why Joseph was promoted. Potiphar trusted him with all his goods.

Even when in prison, Joseph was favored by the warden. He put the whole prison under Joseph's care.

Promotion comes because you are RELIABLE. Well, is that true of you, or do you cheat a little bit here and there. The Boss will never know. Maybe you are right, but God knows, and He is the one who brings PROMOTION, not man.

Read this story carefully and see if you could match up to how Joseph lived. I am sure you can, but it will take discipline.

Well, Blessings to you and see you all tomorrow.

Much love,

Pastor G
