Good Saturday morning to you all.
I have a statement to declare, and it is this---"I officially declare WINTER is OVER!!!!!!"
I am tired of all the snow. Enough is enough. Now, that is not a complaint, only an observation.
Let's get back to some truth...
In reading Luke 12, it got me thinking---what do believers do with all the ability and talent and gifting that God gives us?
In Luke 12:43--it says, "When the master (Jesus) comes and finds the servant doing his work (his giftings), the servant will be blessed."
But what if the master finds his servants not working, then what? Give that some thought.
We all have some unused gifts and talents. God gave all those to us with the idea that we would use them for His honor and glory and to bless others with that ability.
Since most of us lack a little bit in this area, let me share a thought or two about how to cultivate what has not been used as of yet.
1- Assess your abilities
Do an honest audit of the gifts God has given you. This is not the time to be humble, but truthful about yourself.
Ask yourself---what am I good at? Make a list. You must know your strengths if you are going to succeed in life in any area. (Also know your weaknesses)
I say it again--your gifts are given to you by God.
2- Commit those gifts to God
Dedicate your abilities to God for the intended use He has for them. (Romans 12:1)
Your gifts and not primarily for your benefit, but for the benefit of others. You see your gift is to give it away and not keep for yourself. God is entrusting you to be faithful to what He has given you.
3- Practice your ability
How do you get better at what God has given you? PRACTICE, practice, practice.
Do you use your God given gifts to bless others--maybe at church---teaching, singing, instrumentals, leading, serving in the background, the list goes on and on.
***One gift is not greater than another, it is just different.
So, when Jesus returns, how will he find you (me) using the gifts He gave me and have I buried them.
We will all give an account for the ABILITIES, TALENTS that God gave us.
My challenge to you this week, talk to your pastor and let them know--I want to use God's gift to me, where can I plug in?
Pastor G
I am looking to hear from you.
