Good Saturday morning
John 13:35 tells us---
Your love for one another proves to the world that we are His disciples.
What a great statement.
Have you ever asked yourself, "Why do I need the church family?"
A believer without a church home lacks many spiritual and social benefits that cannot be gotten anywhere else.
Eph. 2:19 says, "You belong in God's household with every other believer."
There seem to be many "Bunny Believers" in life. They hop from church to church seeing where they could get the most carrots for themselves. Those people have little identity, accountability, commitment. You and I have a purpose in life. It has very little to do with money, possessions, power. It mainly involves adding value to each other for the sake of God's kingdom.
I do not mean to be mean, but little growth occurs when one moves from one church to another. That person has little to no fruit in their life.
In a family, natural and spiritual those involved in that family add value to those there. That's one of the benefits of belonging. Each believer has been given by God certain blessings to add to the rest of the family. We call them gifts. The purpose is to benefit others and see growth in their lives.
Your commitment to a church family is a sign that you follow Jesus and are obedient to His word, in that area.
If you look, you will find motivation, encouragement, and love from many if not all. We all need that, because we live in a fallen world that cannot give us what God designed for believers to give to each other.
Here is the truth: Christians need each other to grow. Many think that spiritual growth is a private matter---it is not. We are to touch the world that we live in.
So, let's be faithful in the house of God. Let Him use you for His honor and glory and the benefit of His people.
