Good Saturday morning
I trust you are reading the Bible daily. If not, let today be the start.
One of my favorite letters in scripture is Ephesians. It is so practical.
Paul, the Apostle, being led by the holy Spirit is masterful in keeping things real.
Eph. 4:26 says--"If you become angry, do not let your anger lead you to sin."
Now that is great counsel. Not sure if we received it very well. But SOUND it is!!!!
Keeping it REAL---we all get anger from time to time. Not the best deal, but true.
We all handle things differently. Some are a little calmer than ours. It has absolutely nothing to do with your nationality. It is a character issue. Often affected by our upbringing and what parents allow to occur.
Now just because we get angry does not mean we are sinning.
Scripture says---Be angry and sin not. Just don't let your anger lead you to sin. Often if anger is not dealt with quickly, it has the strength to lead to sin. So, we have the choice to handle anger in an appropriate way or not.
Let me share 3 things to avoid when you get angry:
1- Don't suppress your anger:
Don't store it up inside of you. Talk to someone about it, who will give you sound advice.
2- Don't deny it.
If you are angry, then you are angry.
Make sure you have a reason for the anger.
3- Never express your anger in inappropriate ways.
I will not make you a list. I believe we all know what is acceptable or not.
Remember we are children of God all the time, even when we are angry.
Inappropriate anger is learned, therefore it can be unlearned also.
