Good morning married Couples,

The next two weeks I am going to be challenging you and your spouse to be ---

"Your Spouse's Cheerleader" in life.

Answer this--- What would it mean to you to face every day of your life, knowing there is somebody cheering for you no matter what happens? How would that make you feel? What would it do to your heart to experience this kind of encouragement and love, and loyalty?

Well that is one of the opportunities and privileges to be your spouse's cheerleader. Take this challenge seriously. OK, I will!!! So how can I become my spouse's number 1 fan and cheer him/her on to victory?

Throughout the new testament there is a phrase that we come across over and over. It is the phrase "ONE ANOTHER''. I believe there are some 57 times that phrase is used.

I want to give you 6 of these phrases to exercise in being your spouse's cheerleader.

#1- Don't Condemn one another.

Read Romans 14:13, 12:16.

My thought to you is ---Don't be a source of constant criticism, and nagging in your relationship.

It will wear your spouse down instead of cheering them up.

#2- Accept one another as Christ has accepted you. (Romans 15:7)

A good cheerleader is enthusiastic and supportive whether you are winning or losing. Focus on your spouse's strengths and accomplishments while cutting some slack for mistakes and imperfections.

#3- "Be kind to each othe, tenderhearted, forgiving one another" (Col. 3:13)

When your spouse does you wrong, do not punish with an icy stare, be quick to let it go and be an instrument of restoration.

Well these are a few that we can work on this week.

Much love,
Pastor G
