This is what the Lord says— he who made a way through the sea,
a path through the mighty waters, who drew out the chariots and horses,
the army and reinforcements together, and they lay there, never to rise again,
extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" ~ Isaiah 43:16-19
Happy New Year my beautiful Sisters!
Our Heavenly Father delights in doing a new thing! Have you ever noticed how much we, too, enjoy a new start? The very rhythm of our lives is marked by a new day, a new month, a new year.
Since ancient times, the human race has noted the movement of the sun, stars and moon and created calendars and schedules based on the rhythm of their passing, giving us a perceived passage of time.
We can’t see “time”, yet we are aware of it’s passing! We count it, we plan on it, find it, lose track of it! We try to save it, we waste it or we put it off. We certainly feel the effects of it; we perceive it to be speeding by or dragging on. When we are asleep, we are unaware of it, but we are confident it will still exist when we wake up! What great faith we have in time!
We can’t see God, yet we perceive Him. Why is it that, even though He is ever present, we struggle with having as much faith in God? Yet God, our loving Father, continues to remind us of His endless love for us by always doing a new thing for us! Renewing us year by year, month by month, day by day, even hour by hour… (you get my drift).
He continues to make a way through the mighty waters of our lives! He has brought down the chariots, horses, and armies that we formerly depended upon to reinforce ourselves (we are not to trust in them)! In His love, God does a new thing in our lives to demonstrate His power over all the strongholds that try to imprison us!
Are you looking for the new thing that God wants to do in you? We’re not talking about New Year’s resolutions that you try to uphold in your own strength. Surrender your strongholds to Him who loves you and allow Him to win the battle. He always has, and He always will!
Fear not! For I have redeemed you, I have called you by My name, you are mine! ~Is. 43:1
Now to Him who is able to do ALL things be the glory!
With love, your sister, Celeste
