The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. ~ Proverbs 16:9

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. ~Proverbs 19:21

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.

~Proverbs 16:3

“Plans” have been a big topic since the New Year at HCF! From the pulpit and various Bible studies we are hearing “how to”..... be light, be salt, be intentional in our walk with the Lord. We’ve been challenged to write a list of our plans as instructed in Habakkuk 2:2. (Look it up!)

Of course, before you’re ready to write something down, you have to think about it first! The 3 verses above point to that. The critical portion of each of those verses is that the Lord establishes our plans; that His purposes prevail if we allow ourselves to be led by His Holy Spirit. But how are we led into God’s purposes and plans when we are making our own plans in our hearts? Committing those plans to Him is a good way to start!

Proverbs 29:18 says “Without revelation, people run wild, but the one who obeys Divine instruction will be happy.” When we commit our plans to the Lord, through the reading of Scripture, prayer and/or Godly counsel, God will give us wisdom and direction! He will prevent us from running wild. He will be faithful to show us the way He wants us to go. He promises to establish our steps and to get what He wants done through those who want to do His will.

Since the beginning of time, it has been God who makes the plans and carries out His perfect will. I’m not exaggerating! Consider Genesis 1:2-4….

“In the beginning, the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light, and there was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.”

What does that have to do with us planning? Glad you asked! When we have no plan, we drift through life kind of formless and void, aimlessly bumping into things, falling into pits, tripping & stumbling around. When we consult with the Lord, He moves on us and His light shines in our darkness! There is light, there is revelation, there is purpose! And we see that the light is good!

When you commit your plans to the Lord this year, be willing to offer them up as a sacrifice of obedience and see what He gives back to you to accomplish! He loves you and has only good gifts for you that are for your good, your growth, and will be that which will satisfy your soul!

God is trustworthy, ALL the time! Let’s share our plans among our sisters and seek the Lord together!

With love, your sister, Celeste
